CHARLIE’S FIRST WEBSITE

Charlie has never had a website before, so these are our first baby steps in creating an online platform that people can interact with.
Charlie has a Posts Page in the Menu above, where he will be telling you about all sorts of things and he will eventually have different ways to interact – with a Blog and a section where you can contribute information and stories that you think will help to keep our kids safe.
He is also thinking about a Stay Safe Club for the children to join and learn how to become a ‘bully proof kid’.
Charlie’s website will continue to grow and develop over the coming months,
so please scroll down and have a look at the things he’s done so far,
and say hello to CODY.

Where Charlie came from

Hi, my name’s Charlie, my friends sometimes call me ‘Stay Safe Charlie’. That’s because I’m very, very interested in learning all I can about how to keep myself, my friends and my family safe from harm.
I was created in 2019 by Steve Collins, who has spent almost 60 years of his life teaching, training and educating people, from all over the world, how to protect themselves from physical violence and confrontation.
Steve was approached by a private school to put together a package that would help their infant children to stay out of harm’s way if they were to find themselves in a situation that frightened them or made them feel unsafe.

I am the little character that Steve created to teach the kids a ‘safe code’.
The ‘Safe Code’ is easy to remember because it’s just 6 little words.
I call these words my ‘Super Heroes’, because, if you need some help to stay safe, they will always come to your rescue and never let you down.

My Safe Code is…
NO
BODY
SECRETS
RUN
YELL
TELL

CHARLIE’S
SAFE CODE PACK

After almost 3 years research and development, Charlie now has his SAFE CODE Pack, which comprises of 8 booklets.
The first booklet is an Introduction, then there’s the 6 booklets of the Safe Code, and finally a 7th booklet, that he calls ‘WEBSAFE’, for keeping kids safe when they are on the web.

Charlie’s WEBSAFE Poem

Life gets faster with every day
And sometimes there’s just not enough time to play
But trawling the web can be a fun place to be
You can chat with your mates and be happy and free
But, please be aware when you’re trawling around
‘cos, not everyone’s nice, that’s what Charlie has found
The web is a great place to have a good time
But don’t talk to strangers when you are online
If you don’t trust them, or feel unsure
Just block their chat and say ‘no, more’
If they ask for photos, just say ‘no’
‘cos Charlie says, that’s not a safe way to go
If they want your password, home address or other personal stuff
Just say ‘no, sorry, but that sounds a bit duff’
So don’t be afraid, play your games, chat and have fun
But please stay safe when you’re online, just like Charlie has done
